Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Development Manager to lead our Uxbridge development centre, that is tasked with creating our market-leading ICE product.

As an integral member of the product group leadership team, the focus of this role is to own, drive and support our day-to-day development productivity, and drive development to meet our business strategy and goals.

Main responsibilities:

  • To lead and manage a team of development and test leads and software/test engineers
  • Ensure our day-to-day activities are in line with our product strategy and roadmap, and meets our business goals and agreed development plans
  • Devise and implement tactical development plans, which can be collaboratively carried out by the teams to action new development or implement improvements
  • Overseeing capacity planning, requirements for the maintenance of existing products, and the development of upcoming products
  • Building, leading and managing a group of high-performing software developers and testers

     

  • Guide and measure development activities using Agile and lean practices
  • Collaborate with peers within architecture, testing, user experience and product management
  • Manage and drive quality and innovation in coding, processes, technology and tools
  • Measure and provide reporting on development activities to the senior leadership team

    Essential skills required:

  • Previous experience running a successful software development team
  • Experience building and leading software development and testing functions for a software product development company
  • Experience developing software products for private and public cloud-based SAAS is desirable
  • Strong people leader and communicator, able to work with junior and senior team members, business stakeholders and executive teams

     

  • An exceptional eye for detail with the ability to quickly identify key points of interest, and communicate complex scenarios simply and clearly
  • Excellent operational management, Agile project management, time management and prioritisation
  • Flexible and open to changing priorities, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to ensure contributors from development teams meet deadlines
  • Proven experience of web services, cloud, enterprise class and legacy applications

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of healthcare technology and eco systems
  • Knowledge of enterprise or large-scale public-sector web services
  • Agile certified

Depending on the experience of the candidate’s skills and expertise, CliniSys offers a £competitive basic salary plus a generous package and great work environment.

The role will mainly be based at our Uxbridge Office but may require very infrequent travel to other offices, sites or events when required.
