The role

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and upcoming Support Engineer, experienced in delivering to 1st and 2nd line client sided support services and keen to advance their skills with systems administration.

Key responsibilities:

General implementation and support of the ICT function and systems on a day to day basis. This will include but is not limited to the following.

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line support and incident management coverage on our ICT service desk
  • Network and server administration
  • Establish and maintain high levels of incident ownership - resolving, progressing and managing all calls to a satisfactory conclusion on the ICT incident management system
  • Establish a quality working relationship with end users and resolve their incidents in a timely fashion
  • Support all internal and external communications including network infrastructure, internet access, email, intranet, telecommunications, WAN, etc
  • Support for all internal IT systems and servers including O365, MS Windows Server, MS Exchange, VMware, MS Windows clients & MS SQL Server
  • Support of all current security, anti-virus, backup and disaster recovery processes in place
  • Develop, maintain and update ICT documentation on an ongoing basis for new and existing systems in place
  • Recommend or input IT strategies, policies and procedures
  • Attend agreed meetings or carry out further trouble shooting on site at all CliniSys offices where appropriate
  • Attend emergency visits on site at all CliniSys offices as instructed, completing tasks as detailed by the ICT & Security Manager
  • Project manage internal projects of new internal systems and requirements
  • Plan and implement upgrades needed to maintain service levels
  • Carry out ICT project-based activity
  • Participate in an on-call rota, be responsible for the administration of all incidents raised with the ICT service desk

    Knowledge, skills, abilities:

  • Experience in 1st and 2nd line support to users

  • Problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
  • Demonstrable ability to work independently
  •  

  • Good knowledge of base MS Active directory administration
  • MS Desktop Applications
  • Troubleshooting in network / internet and database connectivity
  • Patch management, build, imaging and deployment

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all organisational levels
  • The ability to work under pressure and ensure deadlines are met
  •  

  • Any skills in the following would be highly advantageous
    • O365
    • Advanced Active Directory
    • Advanced Win Server Administration, Build and Troubleshooting
    • Virtualisation, VMware
    • Intune
    • MS SQL Service
    • Security

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Any technical certification such as ITIL, MCPs MCSA MCSE

The role will also be subject to joining and taking part in on call shift pattern the team provides.

This role is based in our Chertsey head office; whilst not regular, you will be required to undertake travel across the UK to our company offices, data centres and events, as and when required.
